Sculptures from Dvorsky Art

Dvorsky Art The need to create something and having some left over supplies can lead to new forms. For two years I worked in scuplture making balsawood flower sculptures of lillies, tulips, water lillies, and orchids.

Each fragile scuplture as delicate as the subject was bent carfully over a series of developed forms and molds. The final pieces were then painted and assembled to form 3d representations of flowers.

The physical demand that cutting and sanding the balsawood took on my wrists and hands led me to stop making them. I looked for alternative ways to cut them but have never decided to make more.
